This hands-on 1-day course is based on the current Microsoft 365 Desktop version of PowerPoint. Participants using earlier versions will be able to follow along, although some of the newest features may not be available in older versions.
This course is designed for learners with no previous experience with PowerPoint and for those who use PowerPoint for basic tasks but have not had recent training. Experienced self-taught users may find this course a valuable refresher.

Overview of the interface, Ribbon, views (Normal, Slide Sorter, Reading), and basic navigation.
Starting from a blank file or template, choosing themes, and using slide layouts.
Adding text placeholders, formatting text, adjusting alignment, spacing, and using the mini toolbar.
Inserting new slides, duplicating slides, rearranging order, deleting slides.
Understanding slide hierarchy.
Inserting pictures, icons, shapes, and screenshots.
Basic formatting such as resizing, cropping, and applying styles.
Using built-in themes to give slides a consistent design.
Adjusting colors, fonts, and background styles.
Applying basic transitions between slides.
Entering Slide Show mode, advancing slides, using Presenter View, and working with speaker notes.
Saving in different formats (PPTX, PDF), printing slides, and sharing via email or OneDrive.
Best practices for layout, spacing, contrast, and minimal text.
Learn to be more efficient in PowerPoint and what resources are available.
Using AI (CoPilot, ChatGPT etc.)
