Microsoft 365 Word - Level 2
Overview
This hands-on 1-day course is based on the current Microsoft 365 Desktop version of Word. Participants using Word 2016 or later will be able to follow along, although some of the newest features may not be available in older versions.
This intermediate course is designed for learners who have previous experience with Word, equivalent to On-Track Word Level 1. Experienced, advanced, self-taught users, may find this course a valuable refresher.
Microsoft Word is a powerful word processing application that enables users to create, edit, format, and share professional-quality documents. It is part of the Microsoft 365 suite and is widely used in business, education, and personal settings for producing everything from simple letters and resumes to detailed reports, proposals, and publications. Word provides a wide range of tools for working with text, tables, images, and layouts, as well as features for reviewing and collaborating on documents through comments and track changes. Its flexibility, formatting precision, and integration with other Microsoft apps make it one of the most essential tools for written communication and document design.
Prerequisites
- Solid familiarity with Microsoft Word Desktop application - equivalent to Level 1
- Access to Microsoft 365 Word Desktop application

- How to insert objects, pictures, icons, text boxes and shapes into a document
- Create, use and modify tables in a document

A review of Level 1 concepts - navigation, interface, basic editing, basic formatting
Character, Paragraph, Section and Document Tools
Module 2 - Reviewing Documents
Spelling and Grammar, Autocorrect, Review of Quick Parts, Creating Outlines
Using the Navigation Pane
Module 3 - Inserting Objects
Inserting pictures, shapes, icons, 3D Models, SmartArt, Excel sheets and Charts
Text boxes, field objects, understanding text wrap
Module 4 - Working with Tables
Creating Tables, modifying tables, formatting tables, adding rows, columns
Merging cells, applying table styles, converting text to tables and converting tables to text
Module 5 - Tips and Tricks
Learn to be more efficient in Word and what resources are available
Saving to OneDrive
Using AI (CoPilot, ChatGPT etc.)
